Buffalo dies in garbage dump blast in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Ahead of the 70th Independence Day celebration, an explosion in Miyapur created panic in Hyderabad. The explosion in a garbage dump claimed a buffalo grazing in the area.
Police said the incident happened in a garbage dump near Metro Rail Depot at noon. People in nearby slums panicked at the huge noise. They rushed to the spot and found a headless buffalo. Its head was found in pieces around 500 metres away.
Police rushed to the spot along with Clues teams and bomb squad.
Though there is a dump yard in Gopalnagar, rag pickers dump garbage at the place to collect scrap.
“The buffalo is suspected to have eaten a crude explosive along with the grass. Due to pressure, the substance exploded. No other explosives or connecting wires were found,” said Miyapur inspector Harishch-andra Reddy, adding that the animal belonged to one S. Srinivas.
The probe teams collected several vital clues and other material from the spot along with remains of the buffalo and sent them for forensic analysis to the laboratory.
