TRS man faces threat charges

Mr Baig said Mr Hameed was angry as he had refused to intervene in his family issues.

Hyderabad: An NTPC pensioner has alleged that he has been threatened by Sanathnagar TRS president Mirza Khaleel Baig. Mr Shaikh Abdul Hameed, 69, alleged that Mr Baig had an affair with his divorced wife and was threatening to grab his property worth around Rs 5 crore.

He claimed that despite paying her maintenance, she was collecting about Rs 70,000 in rent from his five-storey apartment building with the help of Mr Baig. He said he had moved court over the property but was being threatened by her and Mr Baig to withdraw the case. Mr Hameed said the Sanathnagar police had refused to accept his complaint on the ground that he had not mentioned the date and time of the threat calls.

Denying the allegations, Mr Baig said Mr Hameed was angry as he had refused to intervene in his family issues. He alleged that Mr Hameed’s wife was caught with sex workers, and that Mr Hameed had been removed from the post of the president of the Cuba masjid after that.

Sanathnagar police denied receiving a complaint from Mr Hameed. “If it comes to our notice, we will act,” Sanathnagar inspector Sudershan said.
