Hyderabad: Medals virtually rained on Telangana state police on the eve of Independen-ce Day. Counter Intelligence Cell SP Rajesh Kumar who did extraordinary work has been awarded with Police Medal for Gallantry and two cops who died in an exchange of fire with some terror suspects were bestowed with President’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
Senior IPS official of TS said, “The 26 gallantry medals is the highest in the country among states. The Union home ministry has recognised Telangana’s great contributions to the anti-terrorist drives in the country.”
TS cops were involved in unearthing the ISIS network in the country while NIA executed arrests based on counter intelligence cell intelligence.
