TIRUPATI: The annual Jyestabhishekam also known as Adhyayanotsavams has concluded on a grand religious note in Lord Govindaraja Swamy temple at Tirupati on Sunday.

On the concluding day of the three-day annual Jyestabhishekam of Lord Govindaraja Swamy, the temple priests performed Kavacha Samarpanam to the processional deity of Lord Govindaraja Swamy and his consorts in temple premises.

Earlier during the day Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the processional deities. After Kavacha Samarpanam, the deities were taken on a procession along mada streets in the evening.

The golden armours covering the icons all year round are removed only for three days in a year during the Jyestabhishekam performed for the unarmoured deities during the month of June-July. After Snapana Tirumanjanam, the purified armours were re-adorned to the deities ending the ritual.
