Hyderabad: Minors crash bike into cop patrol car
Hyderabad: Two minor boys on a scooter rammed a police car in Rajendranagar and sustained mild injuries. They were let go after first aid.
At about 9.30 pm on Saturday, the boys, aged 14 and 16, from Budwel were riding towards the Inner Ring Road via Rajendranagar police station.
They reportedly did not notice the police vehicle coming out of the police station and rammed into it. As a result, they fell and received mild injuries, and the scooter got damaged. The injured boys were shifted to a hospital, given first-aid and then let off.
Rajendranagar sub-inspector L. Samaram Reddy said, "The boys were speeding, which led to the accident. Neither of them was wearing a helmet, and neither of them is authorised to ride. They sustained minor injuries and were discharged after first-aid administration. A case has been registered under the MV Act against the minor who was riding. The owner of the vehicle will be booked."
The two-wheeler did not have a registration number, and the police will ascertain the owner by cross-checking the chassis number with the data available with the Road Transport Authority. The owner will be counselled at the Traffic Training Institute about the dangers of underage driving and the consequences of violating traffic rules, the sub-inspector said. The minors were not drunk at the time of the accident, he said.
