Hyderabad: More than a month after Poornima Sai, a class X student, went missing from Bachupally, police have changed the missing case to a kidnap case. Police said that they had done so after a recent review of the case although they hadn’t been able to gather any evidence to confirm a kidnap.
Poornima Sai, a class X student of Bashyam School in Nizampet, left home for school on June 7 but did not return home that evening. Days before she went missing, she had told her friends in a Whatsapp conversation that she was depressed.
Before she left home, she is said to have deleted the browsing history on her mother’s mobile phone, which she had been using. While analysing the mobile phone, police found that there were calls to an unknown number, whose identity they gathered on the Truecaller app. Police are still not sure if she was indeed kidnapped.
