Hyderabad: The mandal parishad development officer of Rajendranagar mandal has directed the panchayat raj department to recover compensation awarded to an RTI activist from the salary of Bixam, an executive officer of PR department.
RTI activist P. Suresh said that he filed a case (2336/SIC-PVB/2017) with SIC as he did not get proper information from the officer. “The SIC on July 7 directed the MPDO of Rajendranagar to recover Rs 4,000 from the salary of Mr Bixam and hand it over to me as compensation. The EO did not appear before the commission in this case and did not even accept the orders of the commission,” Mr Suresh said.
“I sought information of unauthorised and illegal buildings in Puppalaguda and Manikonda under Rajendranagar mandal. He didn’t respond to my RTI application and I appealed to MDO and later to the RTI commission for second appeal,” Mr Suresh said.
