Hyderabad: Apart from education and film industries, prohibition and Excise officials have identified victims and peddlers from IT and hospitality sectors also.
Among the eight arrested persons including Calvin Mascarenhas, STF identified three of them — Aman Naidu, V. Nikhil Shetty and Mohammad Abdul Quddus — having IT background, while one person Brendon Ben, a co-accused, was an event manger.
“We have passed the information on the techies who are addicted to drugs to IT secretary for further action. Simil-arly, we passed the same information to the key persons in the hotel industry,” said enforcement director Dr Akun Sabharwal.
He said his department had directed the hotel industry to keep an eye on the activities of drug peddlers on the premises of their establishments. “Aler-ting security personnel and bouncers will assist in curbing drug usage in clubs, pubs and restaurants,” he said.
