Hyderabad: With the advent of monsoon, seasonal diseases like dengue and malaria are a concern and people have been asked to follow the preventive measures. The state government has started the anti-fogging, anti-larvae activities in the state.

Friday will be 'dry day' where all the water containers, bins, pot trays and others around homes must be dried. The dry day concept is to ensure that the dengue mosquitoes do not survive and spread.

GHMC has started the operations and they are also testing the samples of the mosquitoes. With a view to eliminating the female aedes aegypti mosquitoes, they are carrying out combing operations.

Public health specialists have asked people to be alert and follow the methods of hygiene and sanitation with the early onset of monsoons.
