Bengaluru: With the opposition BJP and some ruling coalition leaders raising objections, the cabinet on Friday decided to refer its decision on sale of 3,667 acres at Ballari to JSW Steel of the Jindals, to a cabinet sub-committee for reconsideration.

Accusing the government of selling land at a throwaway price, the BJP had commenced a two-day dharna on Friday while senior Congress leader H.K. Patil too had opposed the sale.
