Hyderabad: The National Association of Software and Services Companies individual IT firms could offer the work-from-home option based on their business requirements.
According to Mr Srikanth Srinivas, Nasscom regional director for TS and AP, an advisory was issued along these lines to software firms in Hyderabad during the rainy season last year.
The state government requested the association to tell companies to explore offering the option for their employees in view of the heavy rain forecast for two to three days in a row, he said.
Mr Srikanth said that Nasscom would be in touch with the government and the IT industry to issue instructions if torrential rains lash the city again this year. "A company in the business process management, customer support, infrastructure support, banking and insurance needs staff in the office. Companies that are into consulting and task-based works can permit work from home.”
