Hyderabad: The High Court told the minorities welfare depa-rtment to submit details on Thursday regarding the money sanctioned for the Iftar to be hosted for Muslims on June 18.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Jus-tice Ramesh Rangana-than and Justice T. Rajani was dealing with a petition by a social activist of the city.
The petitioner’s counsel said that unlike last year, the government had not placed in the public domain the cost of the Iftar. He said minority department and Wakf funds cannot be utilised for Iftar.
The bench perused the GO and noted the Iftar was to be hosted in 420 mosques, inviting 500 persons at each place.
