Hyderabad High Court rejects bail petition of Miyapur land scam accused
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday refused bail to P.S. Partha Sarathi, director of Trinity Infra Ventures Ltd and P.V.S. Sharma director of Suvishal Power Generation Ltd. accused in the Miyapur land scam.
The Kukatpally police had registered cases against the petitioners for alleged illegal registration of government lands with forged and fictitious documents. Both the petitioners were arrested and sent to judicial remand.
Both petitioners moved the High Court after dismissal of their bail applications by the trial court.
Vedula Venkata Ramana, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, argued that the government itself has admitted that the entire state-owned land was intact and there was no loss caused to the government with mere registration of land in the name of the others.
TS public prosecutor Pratap Reddy submitted that the petitioners have cheated several gullible people with the help of forged and fabricated documents and a detailed investigation was needed to unearth the clandestine transactions in this huge scam.
He contended that releasing the petitioners on bail at this stage will hamper the ongoing probe.
Justice U. Durga Prasad Rao, while dismissing the bail applications, observed that a strong prima facie case was established in this case wherein 700 acres of precious government land was involved.
The judge pointed out that the investigation agency has to probe into the alleged companies floated by the accused involved in this case to ascertain whether they are shell companies or not and also the money transacted in this regard.
