YS Jagan Mohan Reddy begins shifting base to Amaravati

YSRC chief waited for polls to be over due to snooping by TD.

Vijayawada: Exuding confidence that he would win the elections, YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is finally shifting to the capital region. Mr Reddy has built a swanky party office and residence in Tadepalli that comes under Mangalagiri mandal.

Though he performed the gruha pravesam in the new residence and the office on February 27, he did not shift and party was ‘being run from the Lotus Pond office in Hyderabad.

Now the office furniture is being moved from Hyderabad to the Tadepalli premises. Party spokespersons and other leaders are looking for accommodation in the new Andhra Pradesh capital region as the party activities will be controlled from Tadepalli.

It is learnt that Mr Reddy did not shift to Tadepalli due to increased surveillance by TD government agencies. There was hectic intelligence activity at the Tadepalli residence of Mr Reddy.

To avoid any leak of his political moves he felt that it was safer to run activities from the Lotus Pond office and maintain his residence in Hyderabad until the polls are over.

“Now that the polls are over and he is confident of forming government, he feels he can shift to the capital region. From now on party activities will take place at the Tadepalli office. Jagan will any way stay in the capital as he will become the chief minister,” said a YSRC senior leader.

To start with, training for partymen on what to do on counting day will be held in the capital region on May 16. Mr Reddy has convened a meeting with party candidates who contested the Assembly and Lok Sabha at the Tadepalli office on May 21. Regular media briefings by party spokespersons will take place at the Tadepalli office.
