Bengaluru: Former CM  Siddaramaiah took to twitter not only to silence his critics but also issue a veiled threat that any government which attempts to scrap his welfare schemes – ‘Anna Bhagya’, ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ and others would pay a very heavy price.

“None of my schemes are temporary. They are permanent. Let any government of the day dare stop these Bhagya schemes. They (those in government) should be aware of the implications of such a move,” he tweeted.

Squarely blaming Janata Dal (S) for “unnecessarily creating a rift” among coalition partners, Mr Siddaramaiah accused higher education minister  G.T. Deve Gowda  with unnecessarily provoking Congress leaders by issuing a statement that some of JD(S) workers and sympathisers voted in favour of  BJP candidate during  Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha polls. Making a pointed reference to Mr G.T. Deve Gowda, Mr Siddaramaiah said " Mr Gowda is my friend, though he has not spoken anything against me personally, but in Mysuru, he made a statement stating that a section of JD(S) votes have shifted to BJP in Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency. This was unwarranted. Although, he has spoken truth, his statement did cause a genuine heartburn among Congress voters, so they too started talking against JD(S). This kind of demeanour by any leader belonging to either of the party will not do good for the coalition,” he added.

He made it clear that he was not in the race for  Chief Minister's post as it is occupied by JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy. “Mr Kumaraswamy will continue to be CM,” he added.
