BHEL institute keeps 100 per cent placement record

The release said cent percent placement was achieved for the previous ten batches of the certification program.

Tiruchy: The course completion certificates for the one-year post-graduate certification program in 'Welding and Quality Engineering' were distributed at a function held at the Welding Research Institute (WRI) of the public sector BHEL Tiruchirappalli, on Monday.

A BHEL release said here on Tuesday that the course jointly organised by BHEL Educational Society (BHELES) and PSG College Coimbatore, with the support of WRI, comprises four months of theory sessions at PSGCT, and six to eight months of practical training in arc welding processes, root cause analysis, welding surveillance etc. in various departments of BHEL here.

As part of the certification, the candidates also completed 'ASNT level II' certification, through ISNT, in four Non-Destructive Testing techniques (NDT) namely Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

They acquired the 'Certified Welding Inspector' qualification through WRI, in addition to 'Six Sigma Green Belt Certification' through ISI, Bengaluru, it added.

The release said cent percent placement was achieved for the previous ten batches of the certification program. In this batch also, 24 of the 25 graduates who received certificates have been placed in leading engineering and welding companies. K. Ganesan, general manager, Strategic and Operations Management, BHEL Tiruchy, distributed the course completion certificates to them at a brief ceremony, the press release added.
