All party panel meet Telangana Governor over Ambedkar statue

The TPCC president said that they have requested the Governor that the government should install a bronze statue of Ambedkar at Panjagutta.

Hyderabad: An all-party delegation has demanded that the state government install the Ambedkar statue at Panjagutta from where it was removed.

The all-party delegation consisted of TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana TD president L. Ramana, BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy, CPI Telangana state secretary Chada Venkata Reddy, and MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga.

They met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum requesting that action be taken against officials concerned in the Panjagutta incident.

It may be recalled that a few days ago officials had obstructed to install Ambedkar statue at Panjagutta and had sent it to a dumping yard in a garbage vehicle.

After submitting a memorandum to the Governor, Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said that they have brought to the notice of the Governor that the state government did not take any corrective measures in installing the Ambedkar statue at Panjagutta.

The TPCC president said that they have requested the Governor that the government should install a bronze statue of Ambedkar at Panjagutta.

BJP’s Kishan Reddy said that the government is trying to suppress the agitations, while the TD’s L. Ramana said that they have requested the Governor to reveal the names of those behind ordering the removal of the Ambedkar statue and they should be sent to jail.
