TRS Corporatortries to block demolition drive
Hyderabad: Despite minister K.T. Rama Rao’s clear warning to public representatives against interfering in the demolition drives, Uppal corporator Mekala Anala Hanmanth Reddy and her husband Hanmanth Reddy got into a confrontation with town planning officials who went demolish unauthorised constructions in Kurmanagar.
The town planning wing was to demolish eight unauthorised structures in Kurmanagar. Congress leaders first intervened, followed by those of the TRS.
Congress leaders headed by Uppal party in-charge Bandari Lakshma Reddy and TRS corporator Mekala Anala Hanmanth Reddy and her husband Hanmanth Reddy threatened the officials severe consequences if they continued with the demolition drive.
Assistant city planner (ACP) Mehra said that they had carried on with the demolition drive despite interventions. He said that out of eight unauthorised structures, the corporation had demolished seven. The other structure was not demolished as the occupant had obtained a stay order from the court.
