Hyderabad: On a typical Monday morning in the hot summer, commuters heading out to their workplace found themselves stuck in traffic congestion at Khairatabad due to a protest staged by ex home guards.
The protest threw traffic into chaos at the busy Khairatabad junction with vehicles coming from all directions, including Raj Bhavan, Panjagutta and from Imax Circle, crawling for around four hours.
“We deployed two sub-inspectors and 10 constables from the traffic department to monitor the situation and diverted vehicles,” said the DCP, Hyderabad Traffic, L.S Chauhan. The effect was felt all across the stretch as the place they had selected connects several roads in the city.
