Urdu gets its place in Telangana, says K Kavitha

Being second official language it is promoted across the Telangana state, she said.

Nizamabad: MP K.Kavitha said that the state government is giving utmost importance to Urdu language in official affairs. Being second official language it is promoted across the Telangana state, she said.

Urdu journalists’ orientation programme was conducted here on Sunday. State government principal secretary Omar Jaleel, mayor Akula Sujatha, Urdu journalists’ forum state president M.A. Majeed and others were present.

Speaking at the meeting,The MP said that TRS government set up corpus fund of Rs 60 crore for journalists’ welfare. Unable to cope with their professional stress, a few journalists have been facing health problems, she said. The government was extending financial aid to journalists and their families. She assured that state government is ready to take steps for journalists’ welfare.
