Kannur: Condemning the attack by BJP-RSS workers on an ambulance returning from Pariyaram Medical College during a hartal in the district on Saturday, CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan posted a video of the attack on his official Facebook page.
The CPM had also alleged that the RSS was exploiting a murder for political mileage and destroying even hospitals in the name of it.
On Saturday, the hospital authorities had declared a loss of Rs 25 lakh as its casualty was also partially destroyed in the attack.
However, according to Pariyaram Medical College Staff Association district secretary (INTUC), though the attack on the ambulance and hospital should be condemned, the issues that led to the attack also should be probed. “I am a witness to the incident, and the driver of the ambulance provoked the hartal supporters outside the hospital. There is a minimum courtesy expected while dealing with people, who are in mourning,” said K. Rajan.
