Hyderabad: Schools drop fee updates on sites
Hyderabad: After the battle by the Hyderabad Parents’ School Association, most of the schools in Hyderabad have stopped updating the latest fee hike of the upcoming academic year, allege parents.
Members from HSPA had searched 100 websites and got details from only 15 schools. Parents also said that they have compared the websites of schools in other cities and found that the same schools in other cities always display their fee structure on their websites. According to a circular passed by the state government, the schools should display their fees prominently in the school premises as well as on their websites.
The circular passed by the Telangana government in June, 2016, stated that the managements of the schools shall upload their school information on the website of the department as communicated, including their fees details and other required information useful to the parents. The parents should be aware of each and every detail before June 13th, so that every parent knows about the same and can take a decision for the admission of their wards in the schools.
Ashish Naredi, a parent from Hyderabad member HSPA said, “There is a state government circular asking schools to display their fees prominently on school premises but look what is happening in reality. Many schools in other cities display the fee structure but the same schools in Hyderabad don’t display fee details on their websites which is quite strange. Very few schools in Hyderabad have these details on their websites and the other schools are not even putting the details on their websites. Even if they are putting them, they are removing them. We are getting details from the parents who have taken admission in those schools’’.
Praveen Raju, President, Independent School Management association, said, “It is very possible that many schools are not putting their fee details on their websites. To resolve this issue the government should take the details from the schools and put them in their domain so that they are visible to the public’’.
