Prepare for major traffic chaos in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Motorists should get ready for traffic snarls on the Musheerabad to RTC crossroads route as Metro Rail pillar works will start soon. About 80 pillars will be constructed on the stretch between Musheerabad-i.e. Kavadiguda junction-Musheerabad junction to RTC Cross Roads.
Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director Mr N.V.S. Reddy, along with L&TMRHL officials, inspected the corridor-II works from Jubilee Bus Station to Putli Bowli on Saturday and advised L&TMRHL to prepare a traffic management plan before taking up the works of laying four critical foundations and construction of pillars in front of the temples near Musheerabad cross roads as traffic movement would be severely affected once the works started.
“We plan to divert the traffic through Padmarao Nagar when pillar construction works start near the temples on Bhoiguda-Musheerabad stretch. L&TMRHL will prepare a traffic management plan. As far as the Musheerabad-RTC cross road corridor is concerned, this road was widened up to 100 feet and works will be taken up immediately,” Mr Reddy said.
Damaged road portions will be repaired and pot holes filled by L&TMRHL and HMRL engineers before the onset of monsoon. L&TMRHL will also clear construction debris that is lying at different locations immediately.
Responding to a query about the bad road, Mr Reddy said L&TMRHL would take up repair works wherever it had to, and GHMC would re-carpet the damaged portions. GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said engineers had been instructed to continuously repair the roads and fill up pot holes.
