Bengaluru: Bus conductor falls off Legislators’ Home, dies

Bengaluru: Mystery shrouds the death of a 55-year-old KSRTC bus conductor who allegedly fell off the fifth floor of Legislators’ Home on Vidhan Soudha premises on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased, Shivashankar, was from Mavalli and had been working with the KSRTC for the last 18 years.

On Sundays, he worked at the ticket counter on the first floor of Shasakara Bhavan. This Sunday 14 too, he came to the office in the morning and worked till noon. He went for lunch around 2 pm and after finishing it, he went to the fifth floor and fell off it.

People near the building heard a loud thud and saw Shivshankar lying in a pool of blood. The Vidhan Soudha police rushed to the spot and shifted his body.

As mystery surrounds Shivshankar’s death and there was no clear reason for his suicide, the police are probing suicide, murder and accidental fall angles.

“The cause of death is not yet ascertained. We are investigating if he jumped off the building, accidently fell or someone pushed him,” the police said.
