K V Thomas told to explain Narendra Modi praise'
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president M. M. Hassan has sought an explanation from K. V. Thomas MP for his controversial speech made in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a programme of the Kerala Management Association, Kochi. Thomas reportedly had said he was more comfortable with Modi than the Congress leadership. Thomas says his speech in English had been “misquoted”.
While inaugurating the valedictory session of the two-day national management convention held by the KMA on Friday, Thomas had said that Modi was an able administrator, who has the capability to convince others about the decisions and actions taken by him. He went on to add that on several occasions he had realised the capability of Modi. But a day after Thomas made this controversial statement, he came out with a clarification.
“What I said was that he (Modi) is not a good administrator. What I said was… many of his (Modi’s) administrative decisions like demonetisation, GST have gone wrong, but he was able to manage (the situation) with his management skills”, said Thomas. At the press meeting of Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala at Cantontment House, reporters quizzed him about Thomas’s controversial statement eulogizing Modi. Chennithala said that Hassan has sought an explanation from Thomas and there was no controversy.
