Don't finalise Mayuri Nagar land bids: Hyderabad High Court

Y. Rama Rao refuted the contention of the petitioner and urged the court to grant time to file counter-affidavit with all details.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court directed the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority not to finalise the auction bids for open plots in Mayurinagar in Miyapur area of the city.

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao while dealing with a petition by Mayurinagar Welfare Association, permitted the HMDA to go ahead with the auction on April 19 as per schedule but not to finalise the bids. Counsel for the petitioner T. Charan contended that the state government in 2002 issued a GO prohibiting the use of lands acquired for the public purpose for any other plan.

He submitted that earlier HMDA acquired lands for the public purpose and sold part of them thorough auction and was now auctioning the remaining.

Authority counsel Y. Rama Rao refuted the contention of the petitioner and urged the court to grant time to file counter-affidavit with all details.
