Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF accused the BJP of using Lord Ayyapa’s pictures in pamphlets that are being distributed by the party during their house-to-house visit in Thiruvanantharpuam constituency.
At a press conference here, former Speaker M. Vijayakumar said the pamphlet was against the model code of conduct and secular constitution.
The High Court and Supreme Court had set aside elections in the past for using the name of religion and caste to solicit votes.
“We have given complaint to the EC, CEO, district collector,” he said.
Vijayakumar referred to a notice of Sabarimala Karma Samithi in which it has accused the LDF and Congress of being hand in glove to mislead the devotees.
