Vijayawada: SSC exams to begin today
Over 6.7 lakh students will write the examination in the state.

VIJAYAWADA: Over 6.7 lakh students will write SSC examination at 2,834 centres arranged in the state on Thursday. The examination will continue till March 29. It will begin by 9.30 am and the students should reach the examination hall by 8.45 am. Over 156 flying squads will keep a strict vigil on the conduct of the exams in the state.
About 57,127 candidates will appear for the SSC examination in Krishna district. Of them, 56,035 are regular candidates and 1,092 are private candidates. Over 268 exam centres have been arranged for the exam in the district. According to District Educational Officer (DEO) K. Rajyalakshmi, “The examination will be held under the supervision of 268 chief superintendents, 62 custodians, 62 chief custodians, 2,950 invigilators and 14 flying squads. The answer sheets will be kept in the safe custody at 62 police stations,” the DEO said.
“All the arrangements have been made in the district and strict action will be taken if the students are made to sit on the floor to write the examination” she added. She further said: “The students are not allowed to carry any electronic gadgets like calculator, cell phone or Smart Watch inside the examination centre. All the students will be thoroughly checked before entering the examination centre.” Police bandobust has been arranged at all the exam centres for smooth conduct of the examination, said Krishna district SP Sarvashresh Tripathi. He said they arranged 9 flying squads, which will be led by the ASI and a helpline 9491063910 has also been arranged. He said health, education and transport departments, along with the police, should coordinate with each other and ensure that the students do not face any inconvenience at the exam centres.
The students can use the help of police and their vehicles if there is any inconvenience to them while attending the exam. Section 144 will be implemented at all the examination centres across the district and xerox, Internet centres near to the examination centre will be closed during the examination time, said the SP. He said extra policemen will be deployed at junctions to clear traffic for the students.
