Pawan Kalyan to launch hunger strike for special status
GUNTUR: Jana Sena founder and Telugu cine actor K. Pawan Kalyan has announced that he will start a hunger fast unto death at any time seeking Special Category Status (SCS) to AP, during the Jana Sena Formation Day public meeting held at Namburu of Guntur district on Wednesday. He blew a conch asking the public to take money without guilty from other political parties, including Telugu Desam as the money belongs to the public and to cast their vote to Jana Sena in the coming elections. Mr Pawan started his speech in Telugu language but turned to English stating that this is for the demand to reach the Delhi leaders.
Addressing Union finance minister Arun Jaitely, he stated that both the TD and YSR Congress are afraid of the BJP led Central government for personal reasons but Andhra people are not cowards and would not fear the Centre. “I am Pawan Kalyan, speaking from Amaravati without fear. The government of India cannot control 5 crore Andhra people through 25 MPs,” he said. He recalled that he met Mr Jaitley in 2014 at Parliament central hall and had sought justice to residuary AP state. “But the government of India has been doing injustice to our state for the past four years,” Mr Pawan said.
“I am speaking from Amaravati. I will not fight in Delhi for SCS but would fight from Amaravati,” he added. He claimed that earlier Andhra public agitated for a separate state but then PM Indira Gandhi denied the demand and nearly 10,000 people sacrificed their lives in that movement. Mr Pawan said that he will not seek sacrifices from the public, especially from the youth, as they are assets of the society. Hence, he said that he will start a huger fast unto death for the SCS. Mr Pawan announced that Jana Sena will enter in active politics to show its power in elections, including panchyat, municipal, Corporation and Assembly. He announced that Jana Sena will release its election manifesto on August 14 or 15, 2018. He said that Jana Sena gives preference to betterment of public’s life by providing employment.
