Telangana: Ayush admissions will not be through EAMCET
Hyderabad: Admissions into the Ayush courses (ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani) will not be carried out through the Eamcet route this year, state education officials have said.
Besides the medical and dental courses, the general Ayush seats were also brought into the ambit of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG from this year.
With this development, courses in the medical stream have been completely moved out of the Eamcet in the state that has been conducting these exams every year under the state administration.
The chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Prof. Papi Reddy, said officials in his department had received the message from the central health department and it was communicated to JNTU-Hyderabad, which has been tasked with the responsibility of conducting the entrance test this year.
Meanwhile, Bi.PC students writing the Eamcet (Agriculture) test which is to be held in the afternoon of May 12 will have to vie for admissions in agriculture, veterinary and pharmacy seats in various colleges across the state.
