Nalgonda: Engineering student ends life over lack of job
Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman from Nalgonda committed suicide as she was upset that she was not getting a job even after completing her engineering.
The woman committed suicide at her aunt’s house in Malkajgiri on Tuesday night.
She also reportedly left a note about being jobless and that she did not want to live, said the Malkajgiri police.
The victim has been identified as K. Navya, 26, a native of Chilukur in Nalgonda district.
Navya, completed her engineering and was searching for a job. About a year ago, she came to the city to live at her uncle Ravi Kumar’s house in MJ Colony in Moula Ali.
Malkajgiri inspector A. Manmohan said, “Navya completed her engineering about four years ago and was searching for a job. But nobody was hiring her. She then went into depression and ended her life.”
“When her uncle and aunt were away, Navya went to the terrace of the apartment and consumed poison.
Navya left a suicide note that stated that she did not want to live as she was unable to find a job.
The watchman of the apartment who went upstairs noticed the woman unconscious and alerted her relatives. She was then taken to a hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment,” said Malkajgiri inspector.
A case of suspicious death has been registered based on the complaint from Navya’s brother Nithin. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem at Gandhi Hospital, he said.
