Visakhapatnam: Pharma firm to start free camps
Visakhapatnam: City-based pharmacy chain Vera Lifecare Services is preparing to start free medical camps near King George Hospital (KGH), inviting specialists from each department. It recently opened a retail outlet, Central Pharmacy, opposite the collector's office. Very soon, the pharmacy retailer plans to bring laboratory and day-care services to patients at the same building.
“We aim to deliver quality healthcare to citizens at affordable cost. In most of the cases, a patient can be discharged within a day. Our day-care service will be offered in such a way,” said K. Rama Rao, executive chairman of Vera Lifecare Services.
The company has taken a five-floor building next to the KGH for a long lease. While the ground floor is meant for the pharmacy outlet, the top two floors will be used for laboratory and day-care services. It also plans to allocate the other two floors of the building to specialist doctors to offer medical services.
“The laboratory and day-care services will be ready by the end of this month. However, it may take some time to launch the medical services. We are talking to experts in the healthcare sector. Meanwhile, we will conduct medical camps opposite collectorate building,” Mr Rama Rao said.
