She asked for the five Lambada persons to be booked under the Criminal Amendment Act.

Adilabad: The ongoing fight between Adivasis and Lambadas in Adilabad has reached social networking sites with abusive audio and video messages going viral. On Wednesday, a group of Adivasi women staged a protest outside the Utnoor Police Station demanding the arrest of five Lambada persons.

They said that the persons had circulated audio and video messages on WhatsApp in which they had insulted Adivasi women by speaking about their private parts, called them blacks and used objectionable, abusive language against the tribe. The women submitted the audio clips and videos to police and Revenue officials, including the SP and the collector, and filed complaints with the Utnoor Police and the Asifabad Police.

Madavai Rekhabai, the district president of the Adivasi Mahila Sangham, demanded the immediate arrest of the person who had posted the messages on a WhatsApp group called “All India Banjara”. She asked for the five Lambada persons to be booked under the Criminal Amendment Act.
