Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation counsel meeting has marred by a clash between TD and YSRC corporators. Haribabu, the TD Floor Leader, passed offensive remarks against YSRC corporator B. Vijaykumar. Protesting against it, the corporators of YSRC stalled the session. CPM corporators supported them. Koneru Sridhar, the Mayor, later announced that those words have been removed from the records.
While the ruckus was on, the ruling party passed many resolutions. The PPP proposal has again been postponed. The corporation wants to demolish the old buildings of the corporation and proposed reconstruction of the model on a Public Private Partnership. This proposal got negative response in the previous session and on Wednesday also the same climate persisted. The ruling party opted to postpone it again.
