Anantapur: Srinivas Kumar is new Vice-Chancellor of JNTUA
Anantapur: Prof S. Srinivas Kumar took over charge as vice chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur here on Wednesday. Mr Srinivas Kumar a professor from JNTU Kakinada appointed as the vice-chancellor of JNTUA following death of then vice-chancellor M.M.M. Sarcar in a road accident.
Speaking on the occasion, the new vice chancellor said he would initiate steps to improve quality of education in the university and consistent colleges of university. “We will improve quality with a target to provide more opportunities of campus selections for the students at their college campuses,” Mr Srinivas Kumar stated.
Recalling that he had worked as lecturer at Anantapur engineering college during 1987 and worked in various levels of teaching, the vice chancellor confidently said he would take all necessary steps to improvise quality with the help of lecturers and also alumni.
“Laboratories would be developed through IOT to meet standards and compete with the other institutions,” he said and further added that new courses connecting to solar, wind energy, petroleum and food technology would be introduced in the university and colleges.
