Hyderabad blast: Kishan Kant Wadmare still feels the pain
Hyderabad: It’s now more than three-and-a-half years, but 34-year-old Kishan Kant Wadmare from Goshamahal still feels the pain in his legs. The surgery and six months of bed rest helped him get back on his feet and restart his small business in Dilsukhnagar.
The constant pain reminds him of the day when two bombs exploded meters away from where he was selling watches. Kishan also cannot hear properly due to the damage suffered by his eardrums.
Now, Kishan seeks justice demanding death for the culprits, who planted the bombs to kill innocent people. "They deserve the death sentence because their act killed many innocents and inflicted suffering on persons like me," he says.
On February 21, 2013, Kishan was trying to attract customers to his tiny shop. As usual, he saw the 107 bus stand and the Venkatadri theatre area was crowded with passengers, hawkers, vendors and locals. Suddenly, the entire world before Kishan's eyes exploded with a massive sound and thick smoke spread.
Kishan could not hear people screaming because the sound had blocked his ears. As Kishan started feeling excruciating pain on his legs, he saw the next bomb exploding a few meters away from the earlier spot. Kishan does not remember how much time went by and how he made to the end of the footpath. “When I looked I was bleeding heavily from my thighs and knees. A auto driver took me to his vehicle, drove me to Osmania Hospital and admitted me. I still do not know who he is. But he saved my life. Doctors told me that several nails had pierced my legs,” says Kishan. Another blast survivor, V. Srinivas Rao, 52, a Tollywood production crew member, was returning home to Malakpet after visiting his friend in Dilsukhnagar. “After the blast, I could not walk as my legs were fractured. I sat there without understanding what was happening. Some people took me to Yashoda Hospital,” said Rao.
"Many like me have suffered. Many still mourns their beloved. The terrorists should get maximum punishment for making innocents suffer," Rao said.
