GHMC gets notice from Hyderabad High Court on business in residences

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the Telangana state government and the GHMC on a PIL that alleged that the civic body was not taking action against unauthorised conversion of residential buildings into commercial complexes.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A. Shankar Narayana was hearing the PIL by Mr P. Santosh Kumar, a resident of Shantinagar, Secunderabad. He sa-id that several houses in the Housing Board Colony at Baghlingampally had been converted to commercial complexes without seeking permission.

He said he had made several representations but the authorities had not initiated action. While issuing notices, the court directed respondents to file their counters.
