Telangana cops promise cash for information about Maoists unlike politicians
Adilabad/ Karimnagar: The Police have coined a new slogan ‘Samacharam Maku… Bahumathi Meeku’ (Give us information about Maoists and take huge cash as a reward).
The police have offered Rs 5 lakh in cash as a reward for information unlike political leaders who offer money for votes during the elections.
In the posters, the police officials have appealed to the general people to give information about Naxalites working in the guise of a peoples’ movement.
The Police of North Telangana districts have openly offered huge cash rewards for providing information about the movements of Maoists unlike political leaders seeking votes in view of the elections.
The police released posters comprising of the photographs of action team members of CPM and pasted them on walls in villages and towns of Old Adilabad and Karimnagar districts.
The police have begun doing this following the information that some members of the action team have slipped into districts.
Police personnel suspect that action team members have entered into forest areas and may attack political leaders and contesting candidates to make their presence felt. The police also suspect that some Maoist action team members had entered the forests of north Telangana districts from bordering Chhattisgarh. They have alerted the political leaders and contesting candidates.
The photographs of 12 action team members have been printed on the wall posters released by the police and the phone numbers of police personnel of various ranks working under the Ramagundam police commissionerate have also been given. The same posters were also released in the Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district.
The police said they would keep the details of the person who gives information about the Maoists confidential.
Among the action team members are, Kankanala Raji Reddy of Kalva Srirampur mandal in Karimnagar district, Milaralu Adellu Bhaskar of Boath mandal in Adilabad district while some are from Chhattisgarh.
