Son-in-law of former minister turns rebel
Hyderabad: The Congress ticket for Secunderabad cantonment for the assembly elections has created disputes among family members as Krishank, the son-in-law of former Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana, has decided to contest as a rebel candidate against Sarve Satyanarayana.
Krishank reached Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday evening and slammed the party for not allotting the ticket to him. Speaking to media persons Mr Krishank said, “I’m familiar as Krishank but not as the son-in -law of Mr Sarve Satyanarayana. How did the AICC allot the ticket to Sarve who has lost the elections thrice? I have been very close to the people and for the last six months, I have been spending day and night at the locations of poor people. I have also emptied my pockets for the party.”
He added that he and his supporters were interested in the policies of the Congress party and had waited for a long time. “Now, we don’t have that patience to wait anymore. The preference is more for parachute leaders who jump parties. Now I have decided to contest as a rebel candidate.”
Criticising the Congress party, he said, “Now we understand that there must be a godfather to get a ticket in the Congress party.” He said that the people of the cantonment did not know who Mr Sarve was. “The people know me well and I’m confident about a victory.”
