Hyderabad: 20 in minority school report viral fever

The complaints are being observed by doctors across the city.

Hyderabad: Twenty boys in Telangana Minority Residential Welfare School suffered from viral fevers and complained of pain and skin rashes.

A team of volunteers along with a doctor from Government Area Hospital Malakpet were rushed to the school in Kothapet to check on the children.

The complaints are being observed by doctors across the city.

Dr. G. Srinivas Rao, a senior general physician explained, “A lot of people are complaining of joint pains and it means that the virus of chikungunia is very active.”

“There is a major outbreak of viral fever this year and we are also seeing a lot of recurring cases despite medication,” the senior general physician said.

In clusters like residential schools, the spread of the virus is fast and the students have to practice hand hygiene and have to cover their mouths while sneezing or coughing which can help to curtail the spread of the virus.
