Demonetisation hits tourist spots in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Demonetisation blues have affected tourist spots as well. The number of tourists has dropped at the zoo, the Salarjung Museum, Lumbini Park and other spots.
The main reason is that the visitors do not have enough small change, and neither do the ticket counters. Tourists who arrived in the city before demonetisation were the worst affected.
At monuments which come under the Archaeological Survey of India. Old notes were accepted on Sunday, but there is the problem of small change.
A zoo official said, “We do not think the footfall of visitors will pick up anytime soon as the situation may not get better anytime soon. People are getting new currency notes and notes of smaller value after spending long hours at banks and ATMs which they might not like to spend on lesiure.”
