It's time for stocktaking on corruption in TN: Pon Radhakrishnan
Chennai: Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan accused the Dravidian majors of being ‘corrupt’ and said it is time for stocktaking on the issue of corruption in Tamil Nadu. He also drove home the message that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can save Tamil Nadu.
“I will not fault the DMK for making the allegations of corruption (against the ruling AIADMK). It is time for stock undertaking as both the Dravidian majors have ruled the State, successively, for about 50 years. So many corruption allegations had emerged from time to time. Blaming one party alone is unacceptable,” he said.
While declining to comment on the Madras High Court ordering CBI probe into the highways contracts case, Mr. Radhakrishnan said when it comes to corruption, one could only see who is more corrupt but “no one is perfect.”
He claimed that the Congress does not have the locus standi to talk about corruption. “The only party which is not corrupt is the BJP,” Mr. Ponadarakrishnan said on Saturday.
“Only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can save Tamil Nadu. He is even
working for the development of the Tamils in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Radhakrishnan said and added that the return of the Congress at the Centre would spell doom for all the Tamils.
“If the Congress comes to power, which it can't, then no Tamil in Sri Lanka will live,” Mr. Radhakrishnan added.
