Hyderabad: Disappointed with what it called inaccessibility of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Majlis Bachao Tehreek has requested Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan to conduct ‘Praja Darbar’ once in a week to hear grievances of the common people.
MBT spokesperson Amjadullah Khan Khalid, in a letter addressed to the new Governor on Friday, said the general public was facing a lot of problems but could not complain to public representatives and bureaucrats, as the latter were unavailable to the public.
Mr Khan said previously, during TD and Congress rule, the Chief Minister, ministers and bureaucrats were available to the general public at their offices daily between 3 pm to 5 pm. This practice has stopped after the TRS came to power, he said.
The MBT spokesperson said the Chief Minister is unavailable as he does not visit the Secretariat and the entire government machinery is at his service in the CM Camp Office, where the common man is not allowed to enter. Even ministers, MPs and MLAs are unable to meet the CM for many months, he charged.
Mr Khan pointed out that the government has not constituted Lokayukta, Upa Lokayukta, State Information Commission or the Human Rights Commission, which the general public could approach with their grievances.
He thus requested the Governor to conduct 'Praja Darbar' at least once in a week at the Raj Bhavan, so that the aggrieved public can represent their grievances to her.
