Farm panels idea unique, says KT Rama Rao
Rajanna Sircilla: Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday said that creating the farmer coordination panels was a revolutionary decision taken by the state government and a first of its kind in the country.
He said the farm panels will help in the integrated development of the farmers in the state.
Mr Rama Rao was speaking at a meeting organised to create awareness about the members of the panels at Ragudu village in Sircilla mandal.
He said that the panels will decide the price of the produce brought by the farmers instead of traders and there would be every possibility of farmers getting remunerative price for their produce.
Mr Rama Rao said the middlemen system will be wiped out with the farm panels and farmers will get full benefit for their produce.
He accused the Congress of creating unnecessary hurdles in the development and welfare programmes taken up by the state government.
Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said farmer suicides will come down with farmers getting remunerative prices for their produce unlike in the past.
MLA Rasami Balakishan and collector Krishna Bhaskar also spoke. Members of the farm panels of Sircilla Assembly constituency and Illanthakunda mandal attended the awareness meeting.
