HYDERABAD: To mark the diamond jubilee celebrations of independence, wholesale textile traders took out a mega rally here on Saturday. To mark the 75 years of independence, the traders made a special flag that was 75 metres long.
The rally vended its way from Bronze Hamali statue, Tobacco Bazaar, Mahankali temple, Mahankali police station, old James Street police station to Paradise circle.
The Secunderabad Cloth Merchants Association (SCMA), Secunderabad Cutpiece Cloth Merchants Association (SCCMA) and the Telangana Textile Agents Association (TTAA) jointly organised the rally. Around 300 wholesale textile dealers of Tobacco Bazaar and their staff members and agents participated.
SCMA president Prakash Ammanabolu and general secretary Cheera Satyanarayana, SCCMA president Bhagat Ram and general secretary Santosh Chokkani and TTAA president Vijay Kumar Aggrawal and general secretary Srikanth Darak were present.
