Hyderabad: BRKR Bhavan is far from ready
Hyderabad: The shifting of the Secretariat departments to the Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Bhavan (BRKR Bhavan) has affected the administration. Most importantly, the finance department has stopped paying bills.
Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi moved his office across the road from the Secretariat to the BRKR Bhavan last week. He visited the office on Tuesday but all arrangements were not in place. After some time, he returned as he was not able to sit in his new office.
Other offices are still in the process of being shifted and set up in the new premises.
This is for the first time that the administration has shifted out of the Secretariat premises. Some departments are being moved to their commissionarate or directorate offices. Because of this, regular activity has come to a halt.
Officials said the finance department had stopped paying the bills and would resume it after settling down in the new premises. Officials said that all departments may start working from their new offices from Monday.
Several applicants who turned up at the Secretariat to pursue their paperwork were sent back.
When they return, the applicants will have a difficult time in locating the offices in the new locations. Besides, related departments may now be dispersed, giving them a tough time.
