BENGALURU: Bengaluru police acted swiftly to deal with the Bermuda triangle crime that has proved dangerous for lonely woman.
A day after Deccan Chronicle reported on the apathy traffic and law and order police, BBMP, BDA and Railways on the stretch of Outer Ring Road, the police swung into action.
Activist and advocate K.N. Jagadeesh Kumar, who was fighting for the cause, was all praise for police top brass.
"I thank DCP Renuka Sukumar for immediate action. After the problem was brought to her notice, she ordered that no vehicle should be parked on the ring road stretch of Bhadrappa Layout and Nagashettyhalli," he said.
Traffic policemen came to his house and visited the spot. Later, all the vehicles were towed. The police have sent photos of the cleared road stretch, he said.
Jagadeesh Kumar Dhad appreciated the efforts of DC in focusing on the genuine problem. "A police point has been created. Now, the police chowkis should be built as policemen have to brave the rain and cold around the clock. We are looking for sponsors to build the chowky," he said.
He said, "Bengaluru Development Authority has to come forward to illuminate the stretch of the road," he said.
Patrolling is done by Cheetah police bikes and if the police department deploys Hoysala vehicles it will have more impact he underlined.
