Jaipur: On the eve of Independence day, more than five lakh people will form a 700-km long human chain along the Pakistan border in Rajasthan on Tuesday. The plan is part of the state government’s initiative, Shahdat Ko Salaam to pay homage to soldiers who laid down their lives for the country.
Citizens from four districts of Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Sriganganagar will come together for this historic event while in Jaipur, an event will be organised at the Shaheed Smarak where the wives of the brave martyrs will be honoured. Lakhs of tricolours have been purchased for the purpose along with balloons. The balloons will be tied to the rope while the tricolour would be handed to people.
