Special Educators' Forum India (SEFI) for uniform guidelines

The Special Educators Forum India, demanded the mandatory appointment of special educators in all schools and uniform guidelines.

Hyderabad: The Special Educators’ Forum India (SEFI) has written to the Rehabilitation Centre of India (RCI), stating that the ministry’s teachers training programme has not been approved by the RCI.

Raju Kalpagiri, head of Special Educators Forum India, said, “As per the norms of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), any person found serving persons with disabilities without the certification from the RCI can be prosecuted under Section 13(3) of the RCI Act, 1992.”

“Though more than 16 lakh teachers have been trained in India, they have not been issued the RCI certificate,” he added.

The Special Educators Forum India, demanded the mandatory appointment of special educators in all schools and uniform guidelines regarding the ministry’s training programme.
