Hyderabad: In order to facilitate easy flow of traffic during the Independence Day celebrations at Golconda fort, the traffic police has imposed the following restrictions.
The road from Ramdev Guda to Golconda fort will be closed for vehicular traffic from 7 am to 12 noon.
Entry from Ramdev Guda to Golconda fort will be one way for vehicles with parking stickers A, B and C between 7.30 am amd 10 am. Vehicles will be allowed towards the fort before the parade commences, and in the reverse direction after the parade ends.
Invitees with A, B and C car passes from Secunderabad, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam should proceed via Rethibowli Junction, Nanalnagar Junction, Balika Bhavan, Andhra Flour Mills, Langer Houz flyover, Tippu Khan Bridge, Ramdev Guda, Makai Darwaza and fort gate.
Parking for ‘A’ cars is provided on the main road in front of the fort gate towards Fateh Darwaza Road. ‘B’ cars are to be parked at the bus stop. ‘C’ cars are to be parked at the hockey ground, opposite the Golconda police station.
Invitees on vehicles with D, E and F passes have to travel to the fort from the Qutb Shahi tombs side (Banjara Darwaza) via Shaikpet Nala and Toli Chowki. ‘D’ pass-holders will need to alight at Priyadarshini School, and the vehicles will be parked inside the school.
‘E’ pass holders have to enter Banjara Darwaza and head to the GHMC playground, 600 metres from the fort.
The vehicles with ‘F’ passes have to drive under the Langer Houz flyover, take a U-turn towards Talabkatta and park their vehicles at HUDA Park. Those coming from the Seven Tombs sides have to enter via Shaikpet nala and park vehicles inside the Seven Tombs.
Free buses have been provided to take them to the venue. Traffic will be diverted at Tivoli Junction towards Brooke Bond and NCC Junction. Traffic from Tivoli towards Plaza will be restricted from 8 am to 9 am.
At-home flag hoisting to cause traffic delays
Traffic will be restricted at Somajiguda on Independence Day, when Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan hosts the ‘at-home’.
Commuters using the road from Rajiv Gandhi statue, Somajiguda, to Khairtabad Junction, on Raj Bhavan road are advised to take alternative routes in order to avoid inconvenience from 4.30 pm to 8 pm.
The following parking arrangements have been made for guests to the at-home function.
All VVIPs will enter through Gate-I and exit through Gate-II. Their vehicles will be parked in the Raj Bhavan premises.
Guests holding pink car passes will enter and exit through Gate 3; parking is inside Raj Bhavan premises.
Guests with white car passes have to alight at Gate-III, their vehicles have to be parked at: MMTS station; Park Hotel single lane parking from Metro Residency to Nasr School; single lane parking from Lake View to VV statue junction opposite Lake View Guest House lane.
